Day 28 - Once were miners: Cordes, Cleator, Crown King

Every day of serious adventuring starts off with Espresso. Oak Creek stands and delivers.

We opt for Crown King.

Cordes guards the gates to the high country of old mines and hillbillies.

The low rolls of the low country.

In Cleator they've installed their very own traffic light.

Today's picnic spot in the mountains. Emma is transfixed by the intricate process of sandwiching.

Never, ever drink the Kool Aid.

At Road's End, Crown King General. Gas, Ammo and Beer and the best locally made fudge you've ever had. Beyond here, there be dragons.

Emma never tires of these things.

Just up the street, the ol' brothel, moved twice via Oro Belle and Bradshaw City, and now Crown King's saloon. Really.

Halloween is over, but up here there's year round witch parking.

Fall colour is alive at Crown King.

Best location for a library ever.

Wendy and Emma do the Vortex King of the World thing at the very Top of Everything.

That is one of the countless crazy switchbacks needed to get off the Top of Everything.

At the Bottom of the Top of Everything, the Other General. Closed.

Say goodnight, Cleator.

Back to the ranch.
